 RESEARCH AND EVALUATION

 The Thurston Group offers expertise in a full range of applied research and evaluation services.:  

	We design multilingual and culturally appropriate data collection instruments.
	We employ a range of statistical techniques and qualitative methods to assess program outcomes and client responses.
	We collect quantitative and qualitative data through interviews, focus groups, and manual and computerized surveys.

Clients use our research and evaluation services to:

	Determine funding and service priorities.
	Assess attitudes of customers about public services, inter-group relations, and community needs.
	Improve the organization’s capability to evaluate its own work.
	Assess how customers and clients define their service needs.
	Plan new programs and services

In recent projects we have evaluated programs that address strengthening families ▪ youth crime prevention ▪ services to victims of domestic violence ▪ health and nutrition education ▪ gang prevention ▪ mentoring ▪ substance abuse prevention.  We have also surveyed how people perceive and use public transportation and other community services.
